Department of Law
The department of law was established to prepare students to join in legal or other profession, the department designed to provide theoretical knowledge, analytical and practical skills necessary to produce a lawyer or a professional who can contribute to the development of legal community.
The department has two programmes
- The Diploma in Law: The diploma in law programme is a two- year programme which intends to produce graduates with the sufficient knowledge in legal and skills for serving different position in legal arena, it can serve also as an equivalent qualification into the Bachelor of Law (LL. B) of any university.
Entry requirements: The applicant shall be the holder of an advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or Equivalent: and he /she has obtained with at least one principal pass and subsidiary in relevant subjects in the ACSEE; and he/she must have an ‘O’ level credit at least "C" grade in English. Equivalent qualifications:A certificate in law from an accredited/ recognized institution.
- Certificate in Law: The certificate in Law programme is one-year programme which intends to produce graduates with basic knowledge and skills in the field of law, also it is an equivalent entry qualification into the Diploma in Law programme for those who has do not qualify for the direct entry.
Entry qualification; A candidate shall be eligible for consideration for admission to certificate in law programme if:- He/she has obtained a certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and has four passes in non-religious subjects. A pass in English is compulsory.
