Department of Education
The history of department of Education founded in 2010, soon after the establishment of Mwl. Franz Teachers College. The department was designed to serve as an important unit of the college where the core function of the college (teaching, learning, research, outreach programs and consultancy) would be best performed.
The department currently has two courses:
- Grade A Teachers Certificate Examination (GATCE).
A two- year course designed to produce teachers with an in-depth understanding of the subject matter, sound pedagogical and professional skills with ability to adapt to the ever changing educational need and country need in Tanzania. The focus is on quality instruction and management of primary schools with the aim of improving the competency in primary school, teachers in instruction and managerial skills so as to serve the community.
Entrance qualification; division I – III in form four.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE):
A three-year course is for students and professional who want to be pre-primary teachers, Early Childhood Education (ECE)specialist and practitioners, as well as those working in childcare centers and those intending to work with children (social workers).
Entrance qualification;To be admitted to this course an applicant should possess four (4) D in academic subjects in CSEE
