PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Agricultural Production

The Agricultural Production program provides students with the technical and practical skills needed to optimize crop yields, manage soil health, and run sustainable farming operations. It blends agronomic science with modern agribusiness practices to prepare students for careers in food production and farm management.

WHAT TO LEARN…

Crop Science & Agronomy

Students learn the biological and environmental factors that govern successful plant growth. Key areas of study include:
Crop Botany & Plant Physiology: Understanding plant structures, growth cycles, and how crops interact with their environment.
Soil Science & Plant Nutrition: Managing soil fertility, analyzing nutrient deficiencies, and applying fertilizers efficiently.
Plant Pathology & Crop Protection: Identifying plant diseases, weeds, and insect pests, and implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
Horticulture & Field Crop Production: Best agronomic practices for growing vegetables, fruits, and major staple crops from planting to harvest.
.

Farm Management & Agribusiness

Technology
Students master the operational and commercial sides of running an agricultural enterprise. Key areas of study include:
Agricultural Mechanization & Irrigation: Operating modern farm machinery and designing efficient water management and irrigation systems.
Post-Harvest Handling & Processing: Techniques for harvesting, storing, and preserving crops to reduce waste and maintain food quality.
Agribusiness & Farm Economics: Budgeting, financial records management, and marketing agricultural products to ensure profitability.
Sustainable Agriculture: Exploring climate-smart farming methods, agroforestry, and environmental conservation practices.
