The Animal Health and Production program integrates veterinary science with modern livestock management practices. It prepares students to become skilled livestock technicians capable of managing animal farms, preventing diseases, and enhancing food security.

Practicals..
Students gain foundational medical knowledge to preserve animal health and welfare. Key areas of study include:
Veterinary Anatomy & Physiology: Understanding the body structures and biological functions of domestic animals.
Animal Pathology & Microbiology: Identifying disease-causing agents (bacteria, viruses, and parasites) and how they affect livestock.
Pharmacology & Therapeutics: Safe handling, administration, and dosing of veterinary medicines, vaccines, and antibiotics.
Clinical Medicine & Minor Surgery: Diagnosing illnesses, managing animal emergencies, and performing minor field surgeries like castration or wound care

Livestock Management
Animal Nutrition & Feeding: Formulating balanced feeds and managing pastures to optimize animal growth and milk/meat yields.
Animal Breeding & Genetics: Applying genetic selection and artificial insemination (AI) techniques to improve livestock breeds.
Livestock Husbandry: Best practices for managing poultry, cattle, goats, sheep, and pigs.
Farm Management & Agribusiness: Basic accounting, marketing, and economics required to run a sustainable and profitable livestock enterprise.
